Surgery Questions

How long does it take to schedule my surgery?

It takes 7-10 business days to schedule surgery. Our office must contact the facility to make sure they have availability on a particular day. We also will contact your insurance company for prior authorization if it is required

Do I need to do anything before my surgery?

Yes. You will be given an order for some pre-operative blood work, and other testing based on your age and medical history. You MUST have clearance from your primary care physician/cardiologist if you have a history of heart problems.

Do I need to schedule an appointment to see the doctor before surgery?

No. When our office calls you with your surgery date/time, we will also set you up for an appointment 3-4 weeks before the surgery. At this visit the physician will make sure you are healthy to have surgery, as well as answer any questions that you may have for him

How soon after surgery will I be able to return to work?

This is not the same for everyone. It depends on what type of surgery you have, what type of work you do, and how quickly you recover. This is a very good question to ask at your pre-op appointment

Do I need to schedule an appointment to see the doctor after surgery?
